
Through the 1940s and 50s, the Jantzen company illustrated its bathing
suit and foundationwear advertisements with classic examples of the pin-up
genre. In early years, their ads featured famous names such as Petty and Varga,
but in this observer's opinion, the campaign reached its zenith in the work of
Peter Hawley, who did most, if not all, of the examples provided here.
